 STEM Career of the Week

Starting in September, we will be including a career focus at least once a month on Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths.  I have a little taster for you this week.

IT Technician

  • You could do a Level 2 or 3 IT Technician course at many local colleges for example Bolton, Bury, Wigan & Leigh, Salford, Runshaw.
  • If you wanted to keep your options open a little, an A Level in Computer Science alongside other subjects you enjoy might be good option.  Look at Sixth Form Bolton, Runshaw, Winstanley, Pendleton Sixth Form, Canon Slade and Holy Cross.
  • There is also the new Digital T Level, which offers industry placements.  These are currently offered by Salford, Bolton, Bury and Runshaw.
  • You could also look into securing an apprenticeship but should always have a backup course just in case you aren’t successful as they are very competitive.
